b-Side Collections - Featuring Mike Lussier
Design of the Dog is a rock project featuring the smooth voice of Mike Lussier from his band White Rose Confession. Mike has been rocking out with his band for over a decade producing some kick-ass tunes. I knew Mike had a great voice the very 1st time I heard him sing, so I was psyched to get an opportunity to work with him. We tried to blend a few different styles for this project with the idea of keeping the door open to explore even further down the road. This EP is primarily Rock but you will hear some metal influences in the song "Demon Girl" and then some lighter rock in "Stand Down". People who know Mike already know how talented he is and hopefully you will too.
AJ Pappas on bass is a true pro. I'm always impressed with how quickly he comprehends new material and that's a reflection of his experience, dedication and talent. His overall technical control and delivery are always spot on and I can't remember a single session where I said, I didn't like that. He also has great feel for knowing what each song calls for.
AJ is the real deal. When AJ is not on tour with Gary Hoey he teaches music and spends time with his lovely family.
Eric Simpson on Drums. When it comes to how Eric prepares and plays for session work, I describe him as a mix between machine and human (Machina). He's the only drummer I've ever worked with who said turn off all the music and just play the click. That was awesome! His cyborg like precision blended with human feel brings a unique sound and is the driving force on the Debut EP. Oh yeah. He's a great dude's dude. You can see what Eric is up to by visiting the band page Analog Heart.
Special thanks to Reflection for the lead work in the song "Dogs of Day". Also, another BIG thank you goes out to Jon Michael Aiello for his lead work in the song "Not Sober".
